On Wednesday 23rd June 12 year 11 language students accompanied by Mr Tracey and Mrs McConnell enjoyed a flight over Belfast Loch and along the Antrim coast with Bombardier Aerospace. This was the prize in an essay writing competition organised by the Belfast City Council European Unit.
All year 11 students entered, answering this question; “If your Head of Modern Languages were to organise an exchange visit to a European city, which would you chose and why?” The winner, Jason Hayes, wrote about how he would like to go to Madrid and as a result won a day out for himself and friends. After the flight students were provided with lunch in W5. A great day out was enjoyed by all and this should encourage the incoming year 11’s to participate in the same competition in October. Photo's from the event are available in the Gallery, and keep an eye on local press for their coverage of the event… |
