The NI Commissioner for Children and Young People is seeking new members for the NICCY Youth Panel (NYP). The NYP is a group of 25 young people who advise the Commissioner on key issues and assist her in her work of safeguarding and promoting the rights and best interests of children and young people.

The panel are involved in a range of key functions within the organisation including recruiting staff, designing the website and publications, hosting conferences and delivering presentations along side the Commissioner.

As well as this the youth panel members also have the opportunity to meet directly with government officials and Ministers, enabling them to challenge key decision makers and ensure their voice is heard.

The closing date for applications is the 12th February 2010. Any pupils who are interested should speak to Mr F Madden.
