On the evening of Thursday 3rd December The Parents (the St Columb's College Association) staged a highly enjoyable and successful Christmas Fayre. A crowd of several hundred was treated to a range of entertainment ranging from Christmas music in the Foyer to a Beat the Teacher penalty competition in the Sports Hall. In the school's very own version of The Apprentice, teams of Year 8 students vied with each other to make the most money on stalls selling a range of Christmas produce. ![]() Parents, pupils and staff attending the Christmas Fayre Of course the highlight of the night was that old favourite, the Rickety Wheel. A superb range of prizes on offer - ranging from iPODs to gaming chairs, from hotel breaks to bicycles ensured that all tickets were sold out in record time. ![]() Making the draw at the Christmas Fayre While a key aim of the night was to raise funds that will allow The Parents' to support the school community in many of its activities, the main purpose of the evening was to celebrate the genuine sense of partnership that exists between the school and its pupils and parents. In this regard the evening can be judged a massive success. ![]() Waiting expectantly with fingers crossed! The Parents would like to thank all of those who turned up to support the event. In particular they would like to thank all of those local businesses that sponsored prizes or contributed in any other way to the success of the night. |
